the little farmer...pumpkin overload!!

Saturday Tavi, James and I went to The Little Farmer. Really I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful day. When we left in the morning it was a bit chilly but by the time we got there and walked through the corn maze we were takin off our coats. Shocking. Like I said we walked through the corn maze (my first time) and only got lost...a few times :p And then indulged in some fall goodies, I got pumpkin pie...my fav!! When we were eating our yummies we met the sweetest kitten in the world. We were just eating on a hill and this little stinker came and crawled on our laps and started purring. He was our new friend for the day. I seriously just wanted to take him home with me!!! I'm a sucker for a sweet cat. Finally it was pumpkin pickin time. I like them big and fat! Needless to say after searching in fields and fields of pumpkins...I found a winner! The only part that didn't make me smile was carrying that giant pumpkin back, but now I just want to carve it already! Heading home was a beautiful drive and we even found a cute country rummage sale. Found a pair of heels for 50 cents. Loving that!!

This was truly a perfect fall day!!

80 degrees in October...only in Wisconsin

It has been oddly warm here in WI lately...I'm talkin like 70-80 degree weather. It's nice and all..but I want fall!!! I want to be able to wear everything fall-y and I've been stuck between summer and fall. But I shouldn't be complaing at least it's not uber cold. I am grateful for that, let me tell ya!! Sooo not ready for that "brrrr" cold weather yet. So until the weather gets a bit chilly, I'll take this. Here are some pictures of the kids Tav nannys for. We took them to the park and Dairy Queen. These girls are a hoot.

helloooooo october!!

It's finally here...October (well it has been for a few days now) but now I finally have time to write and rejoice about it! This is by far one of my favorite months, I love everything about it! Growing up in Wisconsin I was lucky because the fall is beautiful here!! Right now I look out my window and the leaves are starting to turn this orangy yellow color. I love it!! Makes me want to go jump in a giant leaf pile heehee. Just the other day I broke out the sweaters and boots and traded in my shorts and sandals. This month includes some exciting things moms birthday, Mindys birthday, Halloween, The little farmer, and a road trip with Tav to Iowa this weekend to visit Caroline at college. I've never been to Iowa so it should be a fun little adventure for us :)

Here are some of my favorite things about October.
Hocus Pocus. I grew up watching this movie. It's a classic. AWESOME!!!

Light coat weather :)

BOOTS, cute with dresses and skinny jeans...I love them!!!

A new recipe I want to try. I'm a pumpkin attic so this is the month for me to stock up on pumpkiny goodness and start baking again :)

I'm hoping to check this off

This has always been my favorite book. It is so cute!!! A must read for October.

Starting to think of Halloween costumes...maybe a butterfly??

Big chunky sweaters...comfy and wonderful

Welcome October...this is going to be a very awesome month!

Holy Hill

It's tradition for my family to go to Holy Hill every year. We've always gone in the summer but the last few years we've been going in the fall. It's like a mini retreat, it is BEAUTIFUL!!! You drive up and automatically feel at peace with everything and just overjoyed with happiness. First we went to mass in the most beautiful church ever. Tall ceilings and beautiful stained glass all over. Ever since I was a little girl I've been saying that I want to get married here :) After mass grandma and I were very hungry, lucky for us there is a quaint cafe right outside of the church. My favorite there has always been the turnovers, sadly they were out so we ended up getting some apple pie. Man did that hit the spot!! Now with some energy we headed down the trails to look at the stations. Down the trail it is surrounded by trees and just beautful naturalness. It really makes you forget the worries of the world. The stations are so beautiful and heart renching. It shows step by step how Jesus was nailed to the cross. After that it was looking like rain so we went to Fondu lac to get lunch (I had the most amazing veggie burger...ever!!!) and then we went shopping :)

All and all this day was lovely :) I am so lucky to have spent it with mom and grandma!

I highly recommend anyone who lives in Wisconsin stop here for a day it truly is just what you need to really connect to God on a greater level :)
